Deedee - Your Therapist
I have been practising as a holistic therapist since 1999 and I am passionate about working with people to help them improve their health and general well being. I used to work in Bradford on Avon and Bath but now relocated to Shrewsbury, Shropshire for no reason except from following my intuition.
From a nutritional point of view I was lucky enough to grow up in the Philippines where the average diet consists mainly of rice, fish, vegetables and fruit. This basic diet is predominantly cost driven, as incomes are low, but growing up on such a healthy diet and maintaining this approach since moving to the UK some twenty five years ago, I have been able to enjoy excellent health and overall well being. I do not have health issues although I like to optimise my health. To understand more about food and its nutritional benefits, I took a degree in Health Sciences: Nutritional Therapy at Westminster University and this has really helped me enhance the way I work with my clients and achieve better outcomes.
However, my interest is not just confined to food. I like to approach my work both holistically and spiritually. That is why I trained on Biodynamic CranioSacral Therapy, different types of body massage, Reflexology, Aromatherapy and Reiki. I am qualified to produce my own (natural & organic) skin care products which I use exclusively on my Signature Facial.
I am also a keen practitioner of presence or deeper awareness which I incorporate in my daily life and whilst providing a massage or any other treatment. I find that this approach brings about an undeniable and unspoken quality to the experience.
As I evolved as a person, so as my private practice. I now specialise in Stress & Trauma treatments integrating all my skills in complimentary therapies. When a client come for a treatment and they have health concerns, I tend to approach it holistically which means advising them on certain lifestyles changes. My goal is to guide them in the right direction so they can take personal responsibility for their own health.
In conclusion, I keep an open mind and balanced approach between the world of deeper awareness and taught structured knowledge. I take a wholesome view of myself and this is reflected in the way I treat my clients. I love doing what I do – I think I’m a natural and I would love to help you whichever way I can.
My qualifications are:
- PG Dip in Early Years Education (University of the West of England)
- BSc (Hons) Health Sciences: Nutritional Therapy (Westminster University)
- Sports Massage Training (Teeside University validated)
- ITEC (Intl Therapy Examination Council: Anatomy & Physiology & Body Massage, Aromatherapy, Reflexology)
- CTET (CranioSacral Therapy Education Trust Diploma in Biodynamic CranioSacral London)
I also acknowledge the importance of continued professional development to improve my skills as follows:
Advanced & Deep Tissue/Myofascial Release • Ayurvedic Yoga Massage • Indian Head Massage • Pregnancy & Baby Massage • Warm Bamboo Massage • Hot Stone Massage • Oriental Facial Massage • On Site Seated Massage • Making Natural Ingredient Skin Care Products • Reiki
Holisticism is central to my philosophy encompassing Natural, Ethical and Quality.
I love making my own products and enjoy doing what I do - giving therapeutic treatments tailored to the individual’s need, allowing my clients to gain the maximum benefit from every treatment
All products I use are my own creation and exclusive only to Petals Natural Therapies. They are free from synthetic preservative and contain 100% natural plant extracts.
The product making process have been inspected by the Wiltshire Council under Food Standards to make sure they comply with the government standard. I use organic ingredients whenever possible.
It is of paramount importance to me that I only use natural ingredients. I strive to use all organic ingredients wherever possible but where this is not possible, I sometimes use the non-organic alternative.
